Ireland add seven to training squad

on 01/21/2013

Fresh off the back of a busy weekend of Heineken Cup rugby, Ireland boss Declan Kidney has added seven players to the squad ahead of the Wolfhounds' game with the England Saxons on Friday evening.

Five of Munster's contingent have got the nod with James Coughlan, Damien Varley, Mike Sherry, Tommy O'Donnell and Ian Keatley all getting the call up. Two of Leinster's squad have also been added - Rhys Ruddock and Kevin McLaughlin. Ireland also considered Ulster's Roger Wilson and Leinster's Richardt Strauss but the pair are injured.

The Wolfhounds play on Friday while Ireland's first match of the 2013 Six Nations is on February 2 against Wales.
